H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi Chairs the Meeting of the NDC Higher Council

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi Minister of State for Defence Affairs chaired the meeting of the NDC Higher Council on Wednesday, 28 October 2020. His Excellency began his opening speech to Their Excellency the NDC Higher Council Vice-Chairman and Council Members congratulating them on the NDC achievement in renewing its institutional and academic accreditation for the next five years until September 2025 for the Master's Program in Strategic and Security Studies based on the college's compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. He also congratulated the college for achieving the academic accreditation of the Higher Diploma in Strategic and Security Studies. H.E. pointed out that this achievement is a pride for all being a demonstration of the important role played by NDC at the national level and its prominent ability to accomplish its mission and achieve its vision of becoming a world-leading college in developing the strategic thinking and a key source of strategic and security studies. H.E. also commended all the sincere efforts made by all members towards achieving the NDC goals under various circumstances and conditions.

His Excellency Major General Staff Pilot Rashad Mohammed Alsa'adi the NDC Commandant explored the meeting agenda most importantly the institutional and international accreditation of the academic programs of the college, as well as the academic standing of the 8th NDC Course 2020-2021 which was launched on August 16, 2020, and the 9th NDC Course for the next academic year 2021-2022. His Excellency the NDC Commandant also pointed out that the National Defence College is working to get a feedback from its alumni to have inputs for updating its curriculum for the coming years. The meeting also reviewed the prospects of cooperation and the memoranda of understanding signed by NDC with local and international entities being one of the NDC main goals of launching strategic partnerships with distinguished research and scientific institutions.

The council also discussed the schedule of the virtual international and regional study tours of the current NDC Course as per the coordination procedures and based on the Covid-19 status. The meeting was concluded by recommendations to new horizons of achieving the NDC vision.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of State for Defence Affairs expressed his thanks to Their Excellency the Council Members hoping that Allah will support all to serve and raise high our dear country.
