The participants of NDC Course 2017-2018 and faculty members made a visit to the Baraka Nuclear Power Plant on Monday, April 30, 2018, within the context of “decision-making in the national security”. The aim of the visit was to explore the role and importance of the Baraka Nuclear Power Plant, risk management plans, and response to crises and contingencies.
 
During that visit, the delegation was received by Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Deputy Executive Chairman of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), who reviewed the latest developments of the plant's peaceful nuclear program, the risks associated with nuclear accidents, and the understanding of the decision-making process during crises and its proper management. The participants also explored the general safety and security procedures used within the plant's sections, in addition to the proper treatment and disposal of radioactive waste.
 
Then, the delegation toured the sections and facilities of Baraka Nuclear Power Plant and met with a group of engineers and national cadres who are working and managing the project efficiently and effectively. By the end of the visit, the delegation expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Brakha team for the warm reception and valuable information. The two sides exchanged group photos and gifts.
