During their field visit to Fujairah Naval Base and Strategic Oil Tanks of Abu Dhabi National Petroleum Company (ADNOC) on Tuesday, 16 November 2021, the 9th NDC Course participants were briefed about the critical facilities and their strategic importance. The participants explored the prominent role played by the Navy in securing vital national interests on the eastern side of the state's coast, as well as recognizing the importance of the idea of establishing strategic oil tanks reserves. The participants also explored the future projects in this field.

The delegation was headed by His Excellency Brigadier General Navy Tarik Khalfan Al Zaabi, Deputy Commandant of the National Defence College, accompanied by a number of faculty members and staff.

During the visit, the delegation had a presentation that highlighted the importance by the Strategic Fujairah Estuary for exporting oil from the northern region of the country. The lecture was followed by a field tour of the strategic oil reserves at the Fujairah Naval Base.
