In light of the continuing Coronavirus pandemic, which has restricted the regional field visit, the 8th NDC Course has conducted the regional and international studies program virtually to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Ukraine, and the Republic of Sri Lanka during the period from 11/22/2020 to 11/26/2020 via the teleconferencing system as per the instructions and the precautionary measures implemented the UAE Armed Forces.

The goal of the NDC annual regional visit is to learn about the experience of friendly countries in political, economic, military, and media issues in relation to national and regional security. Other goals include learning about the current and future areas of cooperation with the UAE and exploring the trends and levels of military, strategic, and defence education at the global level. Moreover, such visits strengthen relations with peer institutions, universities, and think tanks in the countries covered by the annual regional and international visit program.

The schedule for the regional visits of the 8th NDC Course included several lectures delivered by a number of specialized lecturers in addition to relevant discussions and dialogues. Such visits contribute to achieving realistic educational outcomes for participants by informing them of the strategic and geopolitical importance of the countries included in the visit. The participants can identify through such visits the role of states in regional and international stability as well as the instruments of power and how to use such instruments to achieve national interests. They can also identify the strategies implemented by states to overcome various challenges and threats as well as the outlooks implemented to produce unbiased and flexible international studies. The visits can bring a high level of education that matches the abilities and skills of the NDC course participants.
