Mohammed Bani Salameh Ph.D. Associate Professor

Dr. Mohammed Bani Salameh is a Professor of Political Science at the National Defence College of the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Bani Salameh holds a Ph.D. with specialization in International Relations and Comparative Politics from Clark Atlanta University, USA. Prior to joining the UAE NDC, Dr. Bani Salameh was a professor of political science at Yarmouk University in Jordan, and visiting professor to Gdansk University in Poland (2023) American University in Emirates (2020) and Lund University in Sweden (2018).

His research focuses on various political topics including: Identity, Political Reform, Elections, Immigration, Terrorism, Water Stress, Foreign Policy, Gulf Politics and Contemporary Middle East. In addition to Four books, Dr. Bani Salameh has published over 50 articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals. His publications have appeared in Middle East Policy, Middle East Quarterly, World Affairs Journal, Asian Journal of Comparative Politics, Digest of Middle East Studies, Nationalities Papers: The Journal of Nationalism and Ethnicity, journal of Politics and Law, and Insight Turkey.

In more than 20 years of progressive experience in the research and teaching field, his professional history includes administrative positions such as Chairman of Political Science Department, as well as Deputy Director of Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies and Community Service at Yarmouk University. Dr. Bani Salameh was Member of the Board of Trustee of the Hashemite University (2018-2022), and Member of the Global V-Dem team (2016-2023). He was a Fulbright Scholar to Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, G.A, 1995-97.
