NDC Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with ECSSR

The National Defence College signed an MoU with the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. The MoU aims to solidify a cooperation between the NDC and ECSSR signed by Maj. Gen. Staff Aqab Shaheen AlAli, the NDC Commandant, and H.E. Dr. Sultan Mohamed AlNuaimi, Director General of ECSSR.  

This MoU comes in light of the desire to strengthen and develop both parties' relations in a number of academic, research, and technical fields. Both parties seek through this cooperation to share experience in support of their mutual and individual work. 

On this occasion, Maj. Gen. Staff Aqab Shaheen AlAli said: “Cooperation and building strategic partnerships with universities and research centers in strategic affairs is one of the objectives of the NDC. Because the ECSSR is one of the leading centers in the region, we sought to sign this memorandum as a culmination of years of cooperation between the NDC and ECSSR. Through this MoU, we seek to consolidate ways of cooperation in the field of consultations, scientific research and strategic studies, to exchange experience, to employ available resources and capabilities, as well as to build an effective partnership to achieve common goals."

H.E. Dr. Sultan Muhammad AlNuaimi also said that ECSSR is keen to collaborate with national institutions to exchange experience and to support the process of national work in the UAE. 

H.E. said that this cooperation plays a vital role in preparing military and civilian leaders and raising their capabilities to identify and evaluate national, regional and international security challenges, and to understand the requirements of managing and employing state resources to protect national interests. H.E. affirmed that the center is interested in utilizing all its expertise and capabilities to launch effective cooperation with the college, which is a national achievement that we are all proud of.

The ECSSR has established connections, MoUs, and bilateral agreements with various national institutions and international research and strategic centers.
