In his lecture at NDC in Abu Dhabi, H.E Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, said that the cumulative balance of incoming FDI at the end of 2016 reached $117.9 billion while the balance of the UAE’s direct investments abroad reached $113.2 billion.

As part of the Economy Course, and with the attendance of Staff Pilot Major General Rashad Mohamed Salem Al Saadi, Commandant of the College, faculty members, and NDC Course 2017-2018 participants, Al Mansouri noted that the Ministry of Economy is keen to support the initiatives aimed at building national competencies according to the standards of knowledge, creativity and innovation.

He also praised the key role of the National Defence College in the area of military academic education and elevating the UAE Armed Forces, as well as its contributions to preparing future leaders, through leading and integrated courses that include various specializations and subjects.

He also highlighted the application of VAT as of the beginning of this year, pointing out that this important step will contribute to providing a new source of income for the state that provides the best public services and improves quality. It will also enhance the government's efforts to achieve its vision by reducing reliance on oil as a major source of revenue and promote development of a diversified and sustainable basis.
