Represented by the National Defence College, the Ministry of Defence, and the Abu Dhabi Governmental Academy have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the development of joint training programs.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Defence College by Major General Aqab Shaheen Aqab Al-Ali, Commandant of the National Defence College, and on behalf of the Academy, His Excellency Mohammed Ghayath Mohammed, and Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Government Academy. The signing of the MoU was attended by Her Excellency Somaya Abdul Aziz Al Hosani, Dean of the Abu Dhabi Governmental Academy, and several members of the NDC faculty members.
This MoU expresses the desire of both NDC and the Abu Dhabi Government Academy to develop and strengthen their bilateral relations through cooperation in the development of joint training programs in compliance with the directives of the wise leadership and the strategic plans of both sides.

On this occasion, His Excellency Major General Aqab Shaheen Aqab Al-Ali expressed the college's readiness to provide academic scientific programs in support of the efforts made by the Governmental Academy in qualifying leaders in the Government of Abu Dhabi.
From his part, His Excellency Mohammed Ghayath said that the Abu Dhabi Governmental Academy operates in accordance with the directives of the Department of Governmental Support to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and communication with various government institutions to support human capital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to empower it to handle any future challenges and opportunities by providing world-class programs and initiatives.

His Excellency stressed that cooperation with NDC adds a critical dimension due to its vital role in honing the national strategic skills to keep pace with the accelerating requirements to strengthen cooperation in the next stage relying on joint experience and developing cooperation in research and information to serve the goals and raise the capabilities of the government sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in implementation of the vision of the wise leadership and its plans to build a prosperous and sustainable future.
The cooperation between the two entities includes the development and delivery of joint educational and training programs and courses, which include, but are not limited to, a master's program in strategic and security studies, and an introductory course in strategy and strategic leadership. It also includes the exchange of publications, research products, information of common interest, joint R&D cooperation, the organization of seminars and workshops, as well as participation in conferences, activities, and events of common interest held by both parties.
It is worth noting that NDC is a world-leading college in developing strategic thinking and a key source of strategic and security studies working on preparing and qualifying both military and civilian leaders and honing their skills in identifying and assessing challenges to national, regional, and international security as well as understanding the fundamentals and requirements for managing and employing state resources to defend national interests.

It is concerned with preparing and qualifying military and civilian leaders, raising their capabilities, and understanding the foundations and requirements of managing and employing state resources to protect national interests. As for the Abu Dhabi Governmental Academy, it is entrusted with overseeing the upgrading of competencies of the Abu Dhabi government employees by providing training programs based on international best practices that match the needs, visions, and aspirations of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
