Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi Receives a Delegation from National Defense College

Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development received in her office today at the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) in Abu Dhabi, a delegation  from the National Defense College, headed by Major General Staff Pilot. Rashad Mohammad Salem Al Saadi, NDC Commandant  . 
 
During the meeting, H.E. Sheikha Lubna welcomed the visiting delegation, which encompassed the NDC leadership  and participant-students , and asserted the keenness of the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development to cooperate with all  UAE’s governmental entities. She expressed her admiration to of b valuating the decision of UAE’s rational leadership of establishing the college, which is considered an extension to the academic and scientific institutes  in UAE, and a real translation of the interest of the rational leadership of introducing every possible knowledge and science for the UAE.
 
 H.E. the Minister of International Cooperation and Development said “We are anticipating that National Defense College will attain more academic and scientific achievements in UAE according to the contemporary standards, and that its graduates would contribute to the  march of development in various fields. She wished best of luck and success to the college in achieving its objectives and academic mission. 
 
During the meeting, the head of the delegation briefed H.E. Sheikha Lubna on the college and its objectives, of studying and analyzing the concept of National Security and its strategic aspects, evaluating the current and future challenges; stressing the importance of national and defense resources, and their role in serving national strategy and national security issues; developing the strategic and security concepts of the leaders and enhancing their capabilities in decision-making;  implementing the highest academic teaching standards, and attracting top academicians and specialists in fields of national security and defense; and launching strategic partnerships with prominent research and scientific institutions.
The visiting delegation had a briefing on MICAD’s role, mandate and objectives, in addition to the attained achievements in the UAE foreign aid sector, and the humanitarian and developmental role that the UAE has been taking in the region and around the world, and the prominent status that UAE has achieved in this regard. The meeting was attended by H.E. Hazza Al Qahtani, MICAD Undersecretary, H.E. Ali Al Hameli, and Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, H.E. Najla Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for International Cooperation, in addition to Directors of Departments of MICAD.
6. NDC course participants conduct an exercise on crisis management strategic planning.
As part of the Crisis Management study course taught in the National Defense College curriculum, the student participants of NDC course No.1(2013-2014) conducted an exercise on crisis management strategic planning at the national level with the participation of the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority( NCEMA) during the period from 31 March to 3 April,2014.
