Shady Ahmed Mansour Ph.D. Associate Professor

Dr. Shady Ahmed Mansour is an Associate Professor of Political science at the National Defence College (NDC) of the United Arab Emirates, and an expert on security studies. Before joining the NDC, he worked at Information Decision and support center (IDSC), a governmental thinktank affiliated to prime minister office, Egypt, until 2012. Later, he joined Future for Advanced Research and Studies, UAE, in 2014, where he held the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal “Trending Events”, as well as the head of security studies unit.

Dr. Shady earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Politics from Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University (Egypt) in 2015. His dissertation examined how to resolve internal conflicts in divided societies by utilizing complex power sharing regime.

Dr. Shady has a number of publications on the MENA region, in Arabic and English, like the following book chapters “Wedge strategy: How Saudi Arabia is attempting to influence the Syrian conflict?”, (Springer, 2021), and “Rising challenges to the US-led regional security architecture in EU and the Gulf region” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022). Research interests also included a focus on war and intelligence studies. In this regard, Dr. Shady published three books in Arabic titled: “Fifth generation warfare” (2019), “Analyzing international relations developments and forecasting its developments utilizing Intelligence approaches” (2023), and “International Security Studies; the hidden dimension in conducting the foreign policy of states” (2023).
