His Excellency Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, delivered a lecture at the National Defense College entitled " The Role of Armed Forces in Achieving National Goals" on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. His Excellency touched on several topics including Armed Forces development phases, organization, strategic objectives as well as the role of international relations and alliances in supporting national security. He also highlighted the importance of the UAE Armed Forces involvement in overseas missions and its role in protecting national interests at the national and international levels. Then, he outlined the objectives of national service be they national, security or social. At the end of the lecture, His Excellency answered the audience questions. The lecture was attended by the College Commandant, directing staff members, participant- students of NDC course No.2 as well as a number of high ranking officers from the Armed Forces GHQ.
