Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, has stressed that the usage of solar energy in the UAE came in response to the growth strategies of the UAE in this area. In a lecture entitled "The Future of Energy and Resource Security in the UAE" at the National Defense College today, he reviewed the most important solar power projects in the country. He highlighted the UAE's usage of solar and nuclear energy as well as natural gas and oil. Al Mazrouei emphasised the need to strengthen innovation policy in the field of alternative energy and the need to find a centre to take care of innovation in this area. He reviewed oil prices and the impact of falling oil and gas prices worldwide on the country, noting the UAE's policy in the leadership of balance in the field of oil prices worldwide. The Minister of Energy also spoke about the environment and pollution and the importance of using clean coal in energy production as well as natural events and their impact on energy policies in the world and other related topics.
