On Monday , 30 August ,2014, the National Defense College in Abu  Dhabi started its second course which included 36 participant students from senior officers from the UAE Armed forces and the Ministry of Interior and high-ranking officials from other ministries and state  agencies. The National Defense College Commandant, Staff Pilot Maj. Gen. Rashad Mohammed Al Saadi, inaugurated the 2nd course by addressing the participant students, congratulating them for being selected to attend this course. He pointed out that the creation of the National Defense College came as a result of the directives of the UAE's political leadership for  preparing  qualified  military and  civilian leaders  from  the various  states  sectors to be able to  develop national  policies  and analyze   and  assess the  challenges to the  strategic  environment . The College Commandant indicated that the National Defense Course 1, which graduated last June and included 30  military and civilian participant students who spent almost one year of their  studies and research at the college, represented the start of military quality education in the UAE. He added that the success of that course was a continuation for other successes and achievements made by the state in different areas under our sage leadership . The College Commandant  concluded his speech  by wishing all participant students a further success in  their endeavor to acquire knowledge for the sake of serving our homeland the generations to come.
