Staff Pilot Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Service and Reserve Authority, delivered a lecture at the National Defence College entitled "National Service and Reserve Program in the United Arab Emirates" on Monday, February 19, 2018. The lecture was attended by NDC Commandant Staff Pilot Major General Rashad Mohammed Salem Al-Saadi, faculty members, and participants of NDC Course 2017-2018.
The lecture addressed key topics, including the beginning of the idea of the national service, which is based on building and strengthening the capabilities of the citizens through qualification and military training according to the best international practices.
He also discussed the main elements of the national and reserve service strategy, the objectives of the program, and the strategic aspects and challenges that led the government to launch national and reserve service program and the benefit from the world’s leading experience in the field of national service.
