As part of the NDC's commitment to enhancing strategic understanding of international relations issues and fostering political awareness among its participants, the college had the privilege today, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, to welcome H.E. Khalifa bin Shaheen Al Marar, the Minister of State, who presented a valuable lecture entitled "The Policy and Strategy of the UAE for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs."
This lecture is part of a series of intentional meetings arranged by the college for participants of the 12th National Defence Course (2024-2025). Staff Brigadier Saeed Hassan Al Yamahi, Commandant of the NDC, along with the Deputy Commandant and several wing commanders, welcomed H.E. the Minister.
Throughout the lecture, H.E. highlighted the key principles that underpin the foreign policy of the UAE, emphasizing that it relies on solid foundations of constructive dialogue, respect for the sovereignty of nations, and non-interference in their internal affairs, in addition to adherence to international charters and laws. He emphasized the UAE's continuous commitment to actively promoting peace efforts and enhancing security and stability at both the regional and international levels.
H.E. also addressed the UAE's achievements in international cooperation and examined methods to strengthen strategic partnerships that bolster national efforts aimed at fulfilling the nation's key interests and advancing its progress towards sustainable development.
He highlighted that the accomplishments of the UAE stem from the diligent efforts and clear vision of its wise leadership, which has greatly influenced the strengthening of the nation's standing in both regional and international contexts. He added that the UAE's innovative approach is evident in its development of international relationships that prioritize mutual respect and productive collaboration with various countries of the world.
At the end of the lecture, H.E. graciously addressed the questions and concerns of the 12th National Defence Course (2024-2025). He conveyed his pleasure at the participants' strong awareness and interest in the nation’s issues and strategic affairs.
In conclusion, Staff Brigadier Saeed Hassan Al Yamahi, the Commandant of the NDC, awarded a commemorative gift to the honored guest in gratitude for his kind visit and valuable involvement, which greatly enhanced the thought and knowledge of the participants of 12th National Defence Course.
