H.E. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bawardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, delivered his speech on Tuesday, October 5, 2022, at the National Defence College's headquarters, welcoming National Defence Course participants to the 9th NDC course for the academic year 2021-2022. The meeting was attended by Major General Aqab Shaheen Alali, Commandant of the NDC and his deputy, as well as Major General Eng. Mubarak bin Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defence Industries, Brigadier General Issa Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of the Defence Policy Directorate, Brigadier General Eng. Khalifa Ali Al Kaabi, Head of the Executive Department of Defence Technology and Industries, and Colonel Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Mahrezi, Director of the Strategic Analysis Directorate, and NDC Wing Commanders.

H.E. referred to the political-military document adopted by the United Arab Emirates as a general strategy to establishing and enhancing its military defence capabilities during his meeting with the group of officers and participants of the 9th National Defence Course 2021-2022. The meeting discussed the strategic features of national military industries, their components and future dimensions, as well as their contribution to the national economy.

The meeting also discussed the Armed Forces Development Project, including its main and future objectives, as well as its future development stages.

The meeting, hosted by the National Defence College, aims to familiarize participants with the Ministry of Defence's significant role in advancing all of the UAE Armed Forces' military achievements and projects, as well as to introduce its integrative role in developing defence capabilities and material and moral armament for the various military commanders and units within its departments.
