NDC received His Excellency Hussein Al Hammadi the Minister of Education on Monday, 7 October 2019 to deliver a lecture entitled "Education and the Future.” His Excellency Hussein Al Hammadi the Minister of Education addressed during the lecture several issues related to the UAE educational system.

The lecture was attended Brigadier General Staff Navy Pilot Tariq Al Zaabi, NDC Deputy Commandant, Wing commanders, faculty members, participants of the NDC Course 2019-2020, and a number of graduates of previous national defence courses. His Excellency the Minister expressed his thanks to NDC for its efforts in providing the state with outstanding national leaders, and its excellent academic program that has a great benefit and a deep influence on the participants of the NDC Course.

His Excellency started the lecture talking about the importance of education, being a building and a sustainability tool for the future generations for any country. His Excellency indicated that the educational system in any country is a system that can be constantly developed to keep pace with the latest trends and transformations, and the world is currently witnessing a competition among states to develop a robust educational system that can anticipate the required skills of the future and develop the current generations to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market. His Excellency said that UAE looks forward to achieving the aspirations of our wise leadership of creating a sustainable knowledge-based economy, and ensuring its ability to keep pace with all trends in support of the future generations and to contribute to their growth.

His Excellency the Minister added that the UAE education system aims at having a comprehensive perspective that contributes to supporting the state with highly skilled graduates who can meet the labor market requirements. The outcome of this perspective is the Emirati School Model, which includes an integrated developing matrix that covers all aspects of the education system including the education tracks, smart assessment and education, the curricula, teaching, auditing, quality assurance and other aspects.

Moreover, His Excellency talked about the integrated collaboration and coordination cycle between the Ministry of Education and other education entities like universities, colleges, and institutes. Furthermore, His Excellency shed light on the role of these entities in support of the strategic education plan and the desired learning outcomes. He added that the Ministry keeps track of the performance of such entities to ensure that they abide by the quality assurance standards approved by the ministry. The ministry also assess such entities in accordance with the standardized key performance indicators to ensure community awareness and education improvement at the state level. His Excellency added that within the education framework, the ministry partnerships with other countries to benefit from their experience in education. His Excellency concluded his lecturer by thanking the audience for their interaction and comments.
