On Thursday, November 30, 2025, and as part of its official visits program aimed at strengthening communication and cooperation with international partners, the National Defence College (NDC) hosted Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the Military Committee and Military Advisor to the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and his accompanying delegation at the college's headquarters. He was received by Staff Major General Issa Rashid Al-Mehiri, Commandant of the National Defence College, and the Commandant's advisors.
During the visit, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee delivered a lecture titled "NATO Today and Tomorrow - The Value of Partnerships." He addressed the most prominent security challenges facing the world today and the Alliance's role in consolidating international security and stability. He also reviewed key insights gained during his work in the Alliance, discussing the essential attributes of leadership and the qualities that every leader in an influential position must possess, given their role in achieving results and reaching desired goals within different teams.
The lecture was attended by a number of commanders and officers from the Ministry of Defence, alongside faculty members and participants of the 13th National Defence Course (2025-2026). The lecture concluded with a Q&A session, where the participants' questions were welcomed and answered by the college's guest.
At the conclusion of the visit, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the Military Committee and Military Advisor to the Secretary General of NATO, wrote a message in the College's guest book, after which the two sides exchanged commemorative gifts.
It is noteworthy that this visit comes within the framework of enhancing international cooperation and exchanging academic expertise between the National Defence College and other national, regional, and international institutions.
Furthermore, these meetings represent a valuable contribution to supporting and developing the strategic thinking of the National Defence Course participants.
