The National Defence College (NDC) hosted His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

During the visit, His Excellency delivered a lecture titled "Bilateral Relations between the UAE and the People's Republic of China" as part of the academic program for the 13th National Defence Course (2025–2026) at the NDC headquarters. Upon arrival, His Excellency was received by Major General Staff Issa Rashid Al Mehairi, Commandant of the National Defence College, along with the Commandant’s advisors and the College’s Wing Commanders.

In his lecture, attended by the NDC Commandant, advisors, Wing Commanders, participants of the National Defence Course 13th, and faculty members, the Ambassador discussed the trajectory of bilateral relations between the UAE and the People's Republic of China. He highlighted the development and expansion these relations have achieved across various sectors, affirming that they represent a successful model of cooperation based on mutual interests and governed by the ambitious strategic vision shared by the leadership of both nations.

The Ambassador explained that economic relations constitute the fundamental pillar of this cooperation, alongside partnerships in other vital sectors. He further emphasized that the UAE serves as a pivotal platform for launching numerous Chinese initiatives in the region, owing to its strategic location and advanced economic infrastructure.

This lecture underscores the National Defence College's commitment to providing its participants with opportunities to gain insight into diplomatic experiences and leading international partnerships. Such lectures contribute to enhancing awareness of these relations and fostering a deep understanding of their role in strengthening bridges of communication among peoples.

At the conclusion of the visit, the National Defence College expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the valuable lecture. His Excellency Zhang Yiming then signed the College’s guestbook, followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts between the two sides.
