In pursuance with its ongoing commitment to strengthening national identity, fostering a sense of belonging, and deepening awareness of the UAE’s cultural heritage, the National Defence College organised an introductory visit to Al Maqta Museum in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, 18 June 2025. The visit was conducted as part of the college’s scheduled programme for faculty and staff.
The visit aimed to explore the historical evolution of the security and administrative roles that Al Maqta Fort played across different historical periods, highlighting its strategic significance and vital contributions to the protection and security of the region during its time. The tour also shed light on the museum’s architectural and heritage features, which reflect the rich cultural legacy and historical depth of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

During the visit, the college delegation toured the museum’s galleries and exhibits, which chronicle the development of Al Maqta Fort and Bridge from their origins to their present-day form.

This visit forms part of a broader series of cultural activities organised by the National Defence College, reflecting its efforts to broaden the intellectual and cultural horizons of its staff and to integrate cultural awareness as a core component of the academic and professional environment.
