The National Defence College organized a field visit for its NDC 13th Participants to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The College delegation was headed by a faculty member, Brigadier General Ali Ahmed Al Harthi.
The tour began with a reception by a team of company officials who provided a detailed presentation and explanation of the origins of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group and its integrated operations in exploration, development, production, and distribution, both onshore and offshore. They also discussed its activities in trading, logistics, refining, and petrochemicals, as well as its future plans that prioritize sustainability, increased energy production, and reduced harmful emissions, positioning it as a leading national company and a regional and global giant.
The visit highlighted the artificial intelligence technologies adopted by the ADNOC Group of Companies in managing its onshore and offshore fields through the Panorama Center for Artificial Intelligence and its affiliates. The role of intelligent systems in analyzing data, raising the efficiency of operational processes, improving decision-making, enhancing sustainability and reducing environmental impact was explained. The participants also listened to an introductory explanation about ADNOC's training and excellence centers, which represent a fundamental pillar in qualifying national cadres and building human capabilities, through advanced training programs that combine theoretical knowledge and practical application using the latest technologies, the most important of which is artificial intelligence.
By the end of the visit, the National Defence College participants expressed their appreciation for this field experience, emphasizing its importance in broadening their professional horizons and enhancing their understanding of the nature of work in the energy sector. They also highlighted the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's (ADNOC) commitment to supporting the educational process and fostering collaborative opportunities with national universities and colleges.
It is worth noting that these field visits, organized by the National Defence College for national bodies and institutions, are part of the College's commitment to strengthening the practical and applied aspects of its academic program for its participants and to familiarizing them with the vital role these entities play in preserving, developing, and sustaining national resources.
