The Commander of the National Defence College opens the 11th National Defence Course 2023-2024

Major General Salem Saeed Bin Harmal Al Shamsi, Commander of the National Defence College, opened the 11th National Defence Course for the year 2023-2024 on Monday morning, August 28th, 2023. It was conducted with the presence of wing commanders, the faculty members, the students of the 11th National Defence Course, and a number of college employees.

At the beginning of his speech, The College Commander congratulated the attendees on the start of the new academic year and the opening of the 11th National Defence Course, welcoming them and their joining of the National Defence College, wishing them a distinguished academic year. 

The Major General Salem Saeed Al Shamsi explained that joining this course is a golden opportunity to acquire new quantitative information and skills, which contribute to linking national values to contemporary challenges, that will enhances their priorities for preserving the strategic interests of the state and understanding the foundations and requirements of managing and employing the national resources. Additionally, helping them evaluate variables and determine goals and means leading to achieving national goals.

He also pointed out that the National Defence Course will allow its enrollees to learn about the elements and the foundations of the national security and strategic tools in order to achieve national interest. Next to its role in developing their research and analysis capabilities and enhancing their dialogue skills. The course will contribute through the curriculum it will present on developing their strategic and security way of thinking, and understanding decision-making requirements.

At the conclusion of his welcoming speech to the enrollees of the 11th National Defence Course 2023-2024, the college commander directed the students to the necessity of striving to achieve the maximum benefit from the course and what is offered through its academic program, which was chosen in accordance with the best international academic practices and standards.

The conclusion was then followed by documenting the opening of the 11th National Defence Course with a group photo of the college commander with the course members, in the presence of wing commanders and the faculty members at the National Defence College.
